You know that feeling when you watch someone grow up before your eyes and there is nothing you can do but watch? Well I had that feeling today, as I watched Kyle engage in a physical fight over right and wrong against another boy in Kindergarten.
I'm walking over to pick up Kyle after school, and I stand across the street waiting for the bell to ring, and when it finally does I wait for Kyle to come out in the rush. Well after a minute I don't see him, rather I notice two boys roughing it in the doors and no teacher intervening so I begin to walk over after a minute of this to see whats going on when I see a little boy with a spider-man backpack get knocked to the ground, and quickly get up and run to me. The kid is Kyle. I look at him, with a "what in the world was that all about, and why are you involved" look. and He looks up at me with furrowed eyebrows and says "That boy was takin' the doorstop thing and I was tryin' to get it back, because its not his and he's NOT supposed to be takin' it"
I had to fight back laughter as I looked at Kyle seriously, and told him he didn't need to fight this kid, but next time he needs to find an adult and let them deal with it. Of course the 6 year old dint like this answer, but he finally agreed, and we walked home.
My brother, the school Sheriff and he's only 6 years old, Keep the peace or he'll keep it for you =P
Awesome! I am so proud.
